Fellaini, a former English footballer, has announced his retirement from the Chinese Super League (CSL) after an injury-riddled career.

The Manchester United legend, who was born in Belgium but played for England at international level, made his debut for the CSL club Guangzhou Evergrande in 2015 and went on to become one of its most important players.

However, he struggled with injuries throughout his time in China and could only make 69 appearances for the club before announcing his departure last month.

Despite being unable to fully commit himself to the team's cause, Fellaini remains grateful for the opportunity to have played for such a prestigious club.

"I'm very grateful for my time at Guangzhou Evergrande," he said. "I've learned so much and grown as a player and person."

Despite his struggles on the pitch, Fellaini remains a respected figure in the Chinese game and is likely to be remembered fondly by fans of the CSL.

He will now focus on his future plans and hopefully return to playing football sooner rather than later.
