The Chinese Super League (CSL) has been a hotly contested league this season, with Dalian and Beijing vying for the top spot in the standings. In round 21 of the competition, the two teams faced off against each other at the Shenyang International Stadium on Sunday.

For Dalian, the game was a crucial one as they looked to maintain their position at the top of the table. The home side started strongly and took the lead after just ten minutes through a goal from striker Zhang Yuting. However, Beijing soon responded with a well-taken equaliser from midfielder Li Hongjun.

In the final moments of regulation time, Dalian defender Wang Junwei headed the ball towards the goalmouth, only for his effort to be blocked by a Beijing player.

In extra time, the pressure continued to mount on Dalian's defence as they were forced to defend deep. However, the home side refused to give up and managed to hold on until the end of extra time, eventually securing a 1-1 draw thanks to a late penalty kick from midfielder Sun Xinyu.

As the match came to an end, it was clear that both teams had put in a hard-fought performance. Despite the result, it was another exciting round of the CSL, with the two teams set to face off again in round 22. With only four rounds remaining in the season, the title race is still very much alive and the CSL showdowns will continue to provide some of the most intense football matches of the year.
