The French Football Association (Ligue Nationale de Football) has announced that the club's forward, Jonathan David, has signed a new contract with them through 2027.

David, who is currently playing for Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain, was initially set to leave the club in June 2021 after being linked with a move to Manchester United.

However, it was later revealed that he had been offered a new contract by the Ligue 1 champions.

In a statement released on Monday, Ligue 1 president Michel Platini said: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Jonathan David regarding his extension of his current contract until the end of the 2027 season."

This marks the third time in the past year that Ligue 1 clubs have extended their contracts to a player beyond the current season.

David, who is known for his technical ability and dribbling skills, has become a key player for PSG this season and has helped the team win the league title and the Champions League.

He has also scored 48 goals this season, which puts him second in the league behind Lionel Messi.

His signing comes just months before the start of the season, which will see PSG battle against rivals Paris St Germain for the top spot in the league table.

David's contract includes a salary of €5 million per year, which is significantly more than what many other players receive in the English Premier League or Bundesliga.

It remains to be seen how long he will remain with PSG, but the news is sure to bring excitement and anticipation to the fans of both clubs.
